New age group for pensionable age
The lowest old-age pension age for a person born in 1960 is 64 years and 6 months. Employees born in January 1960 have the opportunity to retire on 1 August.
How to apply for old-age pension
- Agree to terminate your employment with your employer.
- Fill in the old age pension application in Varma Online Service about two weeks prior to the start of your pension.
The increase for late retirement increases the pension for those postponing their retirement
The increase for late retirement is 0.4% per month, and a person born in 1960 receives an increase for later retirement than the minimum age of 64 years and 6 months.
Are you interested in a partial old-age pension?
Partial old-age pension has attracted interest this year among those planning to retire. The current age limit is 61 years and will increase to 62 years for those born in 1964.

The pension record provides a concrete overview of how the paid earnings-related pension insurance contributions affect your accrued and future pension. The electronic pension record provides you with up to date information on the amount of pension you have accrued and a calculated estimate on the amount of your future pension.
