Sampsa Ratia (M.Sc. Econ.) has been appointed director in charge of real estate investments at Varma. Mr Ratia has extensive experience in the real estate sector in Finland and internationally. He has previously worked for Avant, Lease Green, Corbel and Aberdeen, among others.
“Sampsa has very diverse experience in the real estate sector and a strong track record of successful business management. He will also provide Varma with important transaction expertise,” says Varma’s Deputy CEO Reima Rytsölä.

Ratia will assume his position after the summer holidays on 16 August.
Ilkka Tomperi, Varma´s former director in charge of real estate investments, is moving on to a new position at YIT.
The value of Varma’s property portfolio is EUR 4.8 billion. Varma owns approximately 4,200 apartments and dozens of office and business properties. Varma is thereby involved in ensuring comfort in people’s day-to-day lives with sustainable and responsible choices.
